Tip 1: Use good quality thread
Choose a high-quality thread so it glides easily through the sewing machine. Also, use the same thread weight in both the top and bobbin to avoid tension problems.
Tip 2: Snip the tail of the thread before threading
Use sharp fabric scissors to trim thread ends cleanly—frayed tails make it much harder to thread the needle.
Tip 3: Make sure the bobbin is wound correctly
Before threading the lower part of your machine, check that the bobbin is wound evenly—uneven winding can cause thread to bunch on one side.
Tip 4: Turn off the sewing machine before threading
For safety, switch off the machine before threading—your hands will be near the needle and moving parts, and you don’t want it starting accidentally.
