For a twist on a traditional stocking, you’ll learn how to create and gather a ruffle before adding it to your stocking for a soft, decorative finish.

Materials

  • 1m or 1.1 yard of fabric

  • Mix of different ribbons - 10-12 metres of all colours: 21 x 28cm pieces and 19 x 43cm pieces depending on the width of the ribbon

  • Ribbon for the top edge (roughly 25cm) and a strip of ribbon to hang the stocking 12cm

  • Interfacing

  • Sewing machine

  • Thread that matches your fabric

  • Scissors

  • Fabric pen or chalk

  • Pins or clips

  • Measuring tape

  • Iron and ironing board
